Question: What is the function of the Tank Module? Answer: The Tank Module is a control unit for tank vehicles (full tracks). It controls both chain motors and all functions of the turret and lighting. See the product description for details. ^ Question: How is the Tank Module controlled? Answer: By a common RC gear (radio and receiver) which at least four free channels. The Tank Module also may be connected to six proportional channels with the advantage of more comfortable handling. Consider that for six channel mode the additional channels must be either a slider/knob or a 3-way-switch (on-off-on).
See the Tank Module manual for further details.
Alternatively the Tank Module may be also used with the original HengLong electronics. In this case the HLAdapter (available in the shop) is necessary.
^ Question: I would like to use your modules in a sound & smoke tank and use the original radio. Do the sound effects and smoke remain? Answer: Yes! ^ Question: Does the Tank Module work with a 2.4GHz radio or radio/receiver brand xy? Answer: Yes. Although we cannot test all possible combinations, all high quality radios/receivers should work! ^ Question: The Tank Module doesn't work with my radio. What to do? Answer: First of all check if the radio and receiver work at all. Are the batteries full? Are all mixers deactivated? Is the servo way set to 100%? Is the triming set to neutral?
Connect a working servo to each of the channels. Does the stick deflection and the servo reaction corresponds to each other? Are REALLY all mixers deactivated (the servo reacts only to ONE movement of the stick on each channel)?
Does the Tank Module work in 4-channel mode? To check this connect only the wires of channel 1 to 4 to the receiver (you have to switch the power off and on again).
If all other fails, contact our technical support for further assistance! ^ Question: My receiver provides six (or more) channels, but I would like to use the Tank Module in 4-channel-mode. How to do this? Answer: Connect only the wires of channels 1 to 4 to the receiver. ^ Question: The lights and the turret functions are broken. What now? Answer: The connectors for light and turret are protected by a 2A SMD-fuse. It is placed on the bottom side of the PCB (the part with a 'N' printed on it near the power supply terminals). The fuse blows when on of the light or turret terminals has been overloaded or short-circuited. In such case, the module has to be send back for repair (repair costs are total 15Euro). Alternatively we can send you a replacement fuse. Please consider that we will decline any warranty demands in case the damage occured by a faulty repair! ^ Question: Which lighting can be controlled by the Tank Module? How to connect them? Answer: Please check the product description in our shop. You can find a detailed feature list. The connection is desribed in the (downloadable) manual. All light channels are designed for direct connection to one to four LEDs per channel. Integrated resistors protects the LEDs from damage. ^ Question: Does the Tank Module support a barrel recoil unit? Answer: Yes. The type can be defined by jumpers:
- Tamiya/Asiatam compatible BRU (see http://www.rc-eifelforum.de/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=474 for details)
- BRU via servo
^ Question: What are the functions of the two servos which can be connected to the Tank Module? Answer: -servo 1: gun elevation
-servo 2: gun movement to the left/right or barrel recoil unit function (depends on the jumper settings) ^ Question: How can be the AsiaTam/HengLong Flash Unit be used with the Tank Module? Answer: The ThinkTank Flash Adapter, which is available in our shop, is necessary to attach the AsiaTam/HengLong Flash Unit to the ThinkTank Tank Module. ^ Question: Is it possible to use a Tamiya Flash Unit with the ThinkTank Tank Module Answer: No ^ |
